Manex Ibar
Manex Ibar, born in Paris and living most of his life in NY, has had cross-cultural influences from his travels around the globe and through his advertising & media professional experience, working as one of the youngest executives at Sony Music amongst others. With his artistic and technological abilities, Manex has helped brand many of the fortune 500 companies both in the physical and digital space.
Going to school at NYU, Carnegie Mellon, and Fairfield University, Manex’s art work focuses on Alchemy & Shamanism; the process of fusing different mediums, space and color in unlimited formats including video, painting, photography, scultpure/installations and sound. Based on meeting different indigenous cultures as well as some background in physics, Manex melds different aspects of traditional and modern with the idea that all things are connected and that cultural diversity is at the essence of his desire to express himself, while it evolves into cultural cocktails or mixes of cultures, which he finds interesting. As such, his art mixes mediums, mixes time periods, mixes color, space, and technology.
Based between the Pyrenean Mountains in Euskadi South of France & NYC, Manex further explores cross-cultural common connections of existence through the senses. His work has been shown at the Roger Smith Art Lab Gallery in NY, Generation Art in NY, the Natural World Museum expositions for the Environment as well as having art work picked as historical American Art by the Library of Congress.
